To play poker, it is important to have good decision-making skills and an understanding of probability and statistics. It is also helpful to be able to read the other players and look for tells, which are unconscious habits that reveal information about a player’s hand. These can include eye contact, facial expressions, and body language. If you can pick up on these signals, you can gain an advantage over your opponents by making smart bets and avoiding bad calls.
